![]() Midsommar - The Review
Ari Aster isn't a political
filmmaker—but his films are
all the more disturbing when
considered as previews of
what could emerge after a
political or climatic
breakdown. Midsommar is a
film which conveys all these
characteristics. This review
exposes all of the various
occultic and esoteric
messages in one of the most
disturbing movies seen for
years. A dark tale set
mostly in the bright
sunlight of a secluded
Swedish village, the film
tells the story of a young
woman, Dani, who is gripped
with grief after a horrific
family tragedy and finds
little solace from her
increasingly distant
boyfriend, Christian.
The solution they seek is a
new experience with a cult
located in Sweden.
